A tasty seafood first course: Le dolci creazioni di Cris’ Christmas recipe

Looking for inspiration for your Christmas lunch? Here is a tasty fish-based first course that will please everyone: spaghetti with squid and prawns. The aroma of the sea will fill your table, delighting your guests' palates and bringing joy to your dinner party. Today's recipe is by Cristina - Le dolci creazioni di Cris, who chose our Toys Christmas porcelain dinner service to recreate a festive and cheerful atmosphere.

Let's take a look at the recipe together.

Ingredients for 4 people

  • 320 g spaghetti
  • 500 g squid
  • 300 g prawns or shrimp
  • 15 cherry tomatoes
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 chili pepper
  • 100 g black olives
  • 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 glass dry white wine
  • parsley to taste
  • salt to taste

Method

Start by cleaning the squid, removing the entrails and skin, and cutting them into rings about 2 cm wide. You can peel the shrimp or just remove the intestines.

Now, sauté the pasta in a pan and start to fry the garlic and chili pepper. When the garlic is golden brown, add the sliced squid, cook for 5 minutes, and then add the white wine. Once the wine has evaporated, remove the garlic and add the chopped cherry tomatoes and black olives, cover and cook until the cherry tomatoes have wilted. Season with salt. At this point, all that remains is to add the prawns and cook them for one minute.

Cook the spaghetti in plenty of salted water for a few minutes, then drain the pasta al dente and add it directly to the pan with the squid sauce. Finish cooking the pasta in the sauce and, if necessary, add a little cooking water to prevent it from drying out too much. Stir well and finally add the fresh parsley.
