Healthy Cooking: eating well with taste
Today we're talking about... Healthy Cooking! In name and in fact. We interviewed Anna from La Cucina Salutare, who has over 100,000 followers and posts lots of tasty tips every day on how to eat better with imagination and flavors to try, to find out about her mission and get some useful advice.
Your cuisine is "healthy": light, colorful, tasty, and delicious dishes. How did it come about?
For me, cooking is a passion, a way to relax and an expression of taking care of myself and my loved ones. I want to do it in the best way possible, so I prepare healthy and tasty meals that make us feel good. I love to eat healthy and light. By this I mean that I like to pay attention to what I put on my plate, taking care to follow a genuine, nutritious diet without those excesses that we know are harmful to our body or, in some cases of allergies and intolerances, even dangerous. What I always want to convey to everyone is that eating healthily does not mean giving up taste and good food or abandoning the joys of the table. I believe it is just as important to allow yourself some "transgressions" that are real pleasures in life. It's always a question of moderation...
As a nutritionist, could you give us some useful and unexpected advice on how we can take better care of our diet?
Simplicity is the key to a healthy, wholesome, and tasty diet. All you need is a few good-quality ingredients, prepared and cooked in a simple way, to create a delicious dish. Find time for yourself, even in the kitchen. Make sure your diet is varied and enjoy the wealth of vitamins found in seasonal fruits and vegetables. Try new recipes and, above all, have fun in the kitchen: buy a vegetable you've never eaten before, try an oriental spice, eat a different type of fish instead of the usual one. Be creative.
Creativity not only in the kitchen, but also at the table. You often use Weissestal tableware to present your dishes, which are always colorful, well-balanced, and rich in flavor. Do you have a favorite line that you particularly love to use for plating?
That's a really difficult question because each line has its own character and originality. I love the Country Chic line for everyday use, Onix for special occasions and parties that require elegance and refinement, and the Tile line for an exotic table when I prepare oriental dishes. Each style has its own charm and I honestly love them all!
