About Simone Guidarelli

Born in Cagli, in the Marche region, Simone Guidarelli has always been surrounded by genuine, simple beauty. He lovingly cultivates his innate ability to find inspiration everywhere and at all times, ever since he was a child drawing maps and dreaming of traveling. This keenly observant dreamer's eye translates his creativity into tangible and imaginative projects, firmly rooted in the wonders of Italy and nature.
A stylist, content creator, fashion editor, artistic director, and image consultant with incredible facets, Simone Guidarelli has created more than a hundred covers for Vanity Fair, Glamour Italia, Harper's Bazaar, and InStyle and has undertaken various collaborations in both fashion and lifestyle, such as those with Bentley, K-Way, Elisabetta Franchi, and, in beauty, with Campomarzio70.
In May 2023, he presented his fashion collection at Monte Carlo Fashion Week, inspired by his love and relationship with nature, opening the runway days with his first fashion show at the Automobile Collection Museum. As part of the Simone Guidarelli Home project, his collections of wallpaper, clothing, and accessories enchant with their textures and colors.
With his "Souvenirs de Voyage" wallpapers, unveiled at Fuorisalone 2024 and hand-drawn in a 100% eco-friendly version made of cellulose and PVC-free, with bright colors despite their matte finish, Guidarelli won the Archiproducts Design Award 2024.
This collection inspired the tableware project developed with Weissestal.
The art of porcelain: how Simone Guidarelli's collections for Weissestal are created
- First firing: the porcelain undergoes an initial firing in a kiln at around 1000 °C, a temperature that transforms the raw material into a compact and resistant material, ready for subsequent processing.
- Glazing and second firing: the porcelain is glazed by hand with a special mixture based on mineral oxides which, during the second firing at around 1350 °C, transforms into a glassy layer, giving the surface its unique shine.
- Application of decals and third firing: the decals, applied by hand, are fixed during the third high-temperature firing, which integrates them perfectly under the glaze. This process not only makes the surface smooth and flat to the touch, but also ensures that the decals are protected from scratches and are safe for food use.
- Artistic finishing with gold and fourth firing: all items are then finished with hand-applied gold details. This requires extraordinary precision, and the small imperfections are a testament to the craftsmanship of the process. Finally, the items undergo a fourth firing at a very high temperature, which permanently fixes the gold, giving the pieces a timeless elegance.
Care instructions for products finished with precious materials
To keep porcelain items decorated with precious materials in perfect condition, we recommend following these simple instructions:
- Washing: hand washing with a soft, non-abrasive sponge is preferable to avoid damaging the gold and precious material decoration.
- Storing plates: take care when storing plates so that the decorated edges do not come into contact with each other, to avoid scratches.
- Dishwasher: you can occasionally wash the dishes in the dishwasher on short cycles at low temperatures, but it is important to remove them immediately at the end of the wash cycle and dry them with a soft cloth to prevent oxidation and darkening of the precious metal.
- Gold oxidation: over time, gold or precious materials may oxidize when exposed to air and moisture. In this case, simply rub the decoration gently with a damp cloth and dry it immediately.
- Craftsmanship: any slight imperfections or smudges in the decoration of precious materials are to be considered a characteristic of the craftsmanship of the product, as every detail is finished by hand.
